Celebrating Women & Nova Vita

I knew it was risky to read the email while I was in the shop. Anyone could come in at any time and see me crying my eyes out, but I couldn’t resist. Last Fall, a call for submissions went out for the Nova Vita International Women’s Day celebration, asking folks in our community to.. read more →

So “consignment” as a topic keeps coming up more and more lately, and it’s got my brain turning. What is it that’s so exciting about the idea of bringing in your old clothes and getting money? Oh wait. Did I just answered my own question? Here’s the thing though, people aren’t a clear cut as.. read more →

I think we all want to be professional. When I first started my business, I believed that a perfectly polished persona (that’s a lot of p’s!) allowed me to give the best customer service I could. Attempting to answer these questions (which I’m not sure I actually did)  made me realize that I can’t believe.. read more →

Who do you wear your clothes for?

It was never really a question I asked myself when I lived in Toronto. Hell, clothing was optional, and no one would give you a second look if you felt like looking outrageous. But all that’s changed since I moved back to Brantford, and I’m not a fan. I dress for my mood, and always.. read more →

Yesterday, I was grateful to be in attendance at the second official flag-raising ceremony for Brantford’s Pride celebration. Michael Dow, Bridge/Brantford Pride Committee member, said “Last year was the first time for the flag-raising… next year we hope everyone who has and can afford a flagpole raises the flag.” I was feeling particularly smug at that point.. read more →

One of the things I love about fashion is the give and take that occurs. Street fashion influences the runway, and trends get revamped everyday. With that in mind, I thought it would be fun to profile some of the most stylish people I’ve found in our fair city and share with you what it.. read more →
