One of the things I love about fashion is the give and take that occurs. Street fashion influences the runway, and trends get revamped everyday.
With that in mind, I thought it would be fun to profile some of the most stylish people I’ve found in our fair city and share with you what it is they thought was worth a look at Netty’s.
My inaugural inspiration is none other than Donna Marie. Yes, we are related, no I didn’t realize that when I first met her.
She’s a flower child to her core, and her style ranges from feminine and flirty to downright playful and silly. Bold colours and prints do not intimidate this girl.
When I took a look at what Donna had tried on, I realized there was some pretty trendy things happening:
1. Mint/turquoise: These colours, I would argue as much as white, scream summer. They’re parable with almost any colour (in opinion). Together, we figured out that navy would be a pretty sweet pairing.
2. The crochet, linen coloured sweater: This can either come in short sleeve or long sleeve variety, but one thing is clear. When the temperatures dip in the evening, there’s not a more breezy and laid back sweater to be had.
3. Fun floral patterns in bright colours: It’s a special treat to have Donna in the shop, because she really has fun with clothes. And this funny thing happens when you stop taking fashion too seriously. You often end up looking like you know what you’re doing.
4. Reds and corals: If you wear red, prepare to be noticed. But again, having a style is all about expression and fun. So why wouldn’t you want people noticing you.
